Chapter 294: Cleansing Trauma

Mo Chen watched the video on his phone, his hands were shaking the whole time, until he heard Rong Yue calling his name again and again, and when she mistook Austin for him and said aggrievedly that she was in pain, Mo Chen could no longer hold it in. Li Xin looked into Mo Chen's scarlet eyes.

"Qin Huaiyi had some problems and was mentally abnormal, but he kept shouting that he wanted to see Rongyue. The Qin family couldn't find you, so they called grandpa. Rongyue's parents happened to be at grandpa's place to look after the child, and they understood what was going on as soon as they heard it. Li Xin grabbed Mo Chen and said, "You are like this..."

"I'm fine..." Mo Chen pushed Li Xin away and spoke weakly, but his eyes were always fixed on Rongyue.

Li Xin watched Mo Chen walking towards the ICU door with the help of the wall. He couldn't help but step forward and hit Mo Chen on the back of the neck. Then he hugged the unconscious Mo Chen and helped him to the ward.

When Mo Chen woke up, he found himself lying in the ward receiving an IV. He stood up and pulled out the needle from his hand.

"Mo Chen, you're awake." Xia Xiluo had just approached Mo Chen. Before she even touched him, she saw him hurriedly striding out of the ward.

Xia Xiluo followed Mo Chen to the ICU ward where Rongyue was previously.

Mo Chen looked at the empty ward and suddenly sat down on the ground.

"Mo Chen! What's wrong with you?" Xia Xiluo quickly squatted down to check on Mo Chen's condition.

"Rongyue...where is Rongyue?!" Mo Chen looked up at Xia Xiluo.

Xia Xiluo's breathing stagnated when she saw Mo Chen's eyes. She had never seen Mo Chen's eyes filled with tears and fear. Mo Chen, who was on the brink of collapse, looked like he would shatter at the slightest touch. It was heartbreaking to see him like that.

"Where is Rongyue?" Mo Chen reached out and grabbed Xia Xiluo's arm.

Xia Xiluo listened to Mo Chen's begging tone, his hands grasping her arm, and were shaking all the time.

"You really can't live without her? If she died, you wouldn't be able to live, right?" Xia Xiluo frowned and looked at Mo Chen in confusion.

Mo Chen looked at Xia Xiluo. As he listened to her words, his heart suddenly shrank. The blood in his body seemed to flow backwards, and his hands and feet became numb in an instant.

Xia Xiluo stood up and looked at Mo Chen's stumbling figure running away. She clenched her fists tightly, and her nails kept digging into her flesh to keep herself calm and not kill Nangong Rongyue right now.

Mo Chen followed Yu Yan to the outside of Rongyue's ward. He looked at the bed. Rongyue was sitting on the bed, turning her head to look out the window. The nurse was cleaning and applying medicine to her left hand.

Li Xin sat beside Rongyue's bed and looked at her with a frown. The room was so quiet that there was no sound at all.

Mo Chen came in front of Rongyue. He looked at Rongyue's face. Apart from the weak and pale feeling, the pair of eyes with blood-red pupils looked particularly abrupt on this face.

Mo Chen noticed that Rongyue frowned, but her eyes were empty and not focused on his face.

Mo Chen glanced at Li Xin who was sitting next to him.

Li Xin raised his hand to indicate that Mo Chen Rongyue couldn't see it.

The red color diluted by the sunlight was covered by a black shadow, and a feeling of panic came over her. Rongyue wanted to avoid the black shadow that blocked the light, so she tilted her head to find the sunlight.

Mo Chen found that he seemed to be blocking Rongyue. He squatted down and looked up at Rongyue. The light fell on Rongyue again, and Rongyue's brows relaxed.

"Rongyue." Mo Chen raised his hand and gently stroked Rongyue's face, his eyes full of pity.

Rongyue just slightly dodged Mo Chen's hand and did not respond to Mo Chen at all.

Mo Chen looked at Rong Yue who was completely indifferent. She just looked up at the sunlight, as if she had completely blocked out everything in the outside world.

Li Xin patted Mo Chen, and Mo Chen followed Li Xin out of the ward and outside the ward.

"I woke up last night. The doctor came to check on me. They didn't know why my eyes were red, and they had never seen such a condition before. But they checked the cause of my blindness and it might be psychological. I need to slowly resolve the psychological issues before I can recover."

Mo Chen walked to Rongyue and hugged her.

Rongyue was held in Mo Chen's arms, her face pressed against Mo Chen's chest, and the familiar scent of Mo Chen filled the surroundings.

When the nurse saw that Rongyue had calmed down in Mo Chen's arms, she deftly untied the gauze on Rongyue's legs and disinfected and changed her dressing.

Another nurse came in to help hold Rongyue down.
