Chapter 444: Chapter 438: Who’s Fault
These incidents shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Such a basic principle, is there really nobody who understands it?
“Why didn’t you do the skin test?” The Director of the hospital asked the nurse responsible for administering the child’s injection.
“Her mother said that the child has no history of drug allergies,” the nurse stuttered in reply.
“Is the child’s mother the professional, or are you the professional?” The director asked the nurse again, his voice seemed calm, but anyone could tell that he was suppressing his rage, barely managing to keep from exploding.
What on earth has been going on with their hospital lately? Why are they constantly making such low-level mistakes?
The nurse attempts to explain but ends up speechless. She has to accept her mistake. The word of the parents shouldn’t be taken as face value. Even if their tales seemed real enough to touch, skin tests must be performed. The drugs administered have a high possibility of causing allergies in a lot of people. If it hadn’t been found sooner, this child would have been killed by that single injection.
She cannot bear this responsibility. Even if she knelt before the child’s parents, could their child be returned to them?
“Director, I didn’t inject the child,” the nurse suddenly remembered something and then she pointed at Wei Jiani, “She did it.”
“I...” Wei Jiani lifted her face, she had done her best to fly under the radar, but eventually, she was noticed.@@@@
But this time she couldn’t refute it. Last time she escaped because no one had noticed in the middle of the night. But this time it was different, too many people saw her. Even if she had ten mouths, she couldn’t talk her way out of this.
“Why didn’t you do the skin test?” The director asked Wei Jiani. He initially had a pretty good impression of her but now that’s fallen to an all-time low.
“I thought she did it.”
Wei Jiani was still insisting on her innocence, refusing to admit her mistake.
“You didn’t even ask me,” the nurse rebutted.
When Tang Yuxin came out, she bumped into Wei Jiani who was walking around with her hands in her pockets, looking for performance opportunities. However, not many people seemed interested in her anymore.
Wei Jiani glared at Tang Yuxin with evident disdain in her eyes. Tang Yuxin, of course, reciprocated with cold silence. Both of them had been nursing grudges for what felt like a lifetime. The enmity between them only grew, never fading away.
As long as she is Tang Yuxin, and she is Wei Jiani.
As long as their mothers are both named Sang Zhilan.
Inside the director’s office, the director held the phone with a grave expression on his face.
“Rest assured, we will have everything prepared as quickly as possible. We have enough hospital rooms, and they will be attended by our best medical staff.”
As soon as he hung up the phone, he immediately called everyone in the department to his office. They needed to hold a mini-meeting.
“We are about to receive a group of severely injured patients, and the condition of some of them is very critical. Therefore, we need to switch to a 24-hour shift system immediately. Clear out all unused hospital rooms in preparation for receiving the injured.”
Li Jia tugged at Tang Yuxin’s sleeve nervously. Has something serious happened?
Tang Yuxin shook her head at her, telling her not to talk. They’re not doctors here; they just need to follow the director’s instructions. Whatever others do, they will do, and whatever others don’t do, they’ll stand idle.
Li Jia finally closed her mouth and followed her mentor to prepare the medicines and arrange the emergency rooms. The atmosphere of the hospital had changed dramatically.
“When are they coming?” Li Jia asked Tang Yuxin in a low voice. She was supposed to be off today, but due to this sudden incident, asking for leave had never seemed more inappropriate.
Tang Yuxin shook her head again, “We don’t know yet, just wait.”
Having been a seasoned doctor, Tang Yuxin had experienced a number of such emergencies and large-scale rescues. She took some time to buy herself some supplies and gave some to Li Jia.
“Food,” Li Jia glanced at the bag she was holding and blinked, “I’m not hungry.”
