"Why don't we take the shortest route? Maybe we'll run into the messenger along the way?" Turner suggested considerately, earning Lin Yi a grateful look in return.
“That’s right. Perhaps my going there won’t be of much help, but Xiaoyu will definitely want to see me as soon as possible. If Qingyin’s sacrifice has brought her out of danger, I hope that I can go and bring her back myself. Please grant me your permission, Your Majesty.”
Lin Yi knelt on one knee, his bright red cloak trailing on the ground, his once bright blond hair now looking somewhat disheveled, the constant running around making him look travel-worn.
Just as the emperor was about to agree, he was interrupted by a servant who rushed in. The servant stammered, as if he didn't know how to say it: "Your Majesty, Your Excellencies, um, um, there is a gentleman... who requests an audience."
Before he could finish his stammering words, a tall, black figure appeared behind him, and Keslan shoved the servant who was in his way aside.
"That's why I'm unwilling to go through the normal procedures to enter the palace. There's just too much nonsense and no efficiency whatsoever."
The attendant stood trembling beside him, thinking to himself, "What kind of normal procedure is this? You clearly blocked the poor guy right at the palace gate!"
The thought of how he had just turned the corner at the end of the corridor while carrying a bottle of wine, and how a ferocious, jet-black dragon eagle had almost touched his face, made him want to pee again.
It was terrifying. He never wanted to experience being sprayed in the face with that fishy-smelling snort and being locked on by those emerald green beast eyes again. It would really scare him to death.
Keslan waved his hand as a brief greeting to the emperor, then quickly scanned the hall with his yellow eyes, quite satisfied with its current empty state.
"Luckily, there weren't any other people around. Otherwise, if they had seen my handsome appearance, it wouldn't have been as simple as just charging them a fee."
Even though the Emperor was used to Keslan's usual flippant remarks, he couldn't help but roll his eyes dramatically. "You're back just in time! Tell us what happened. Where's Lord Jiang Yu? Why was he in mortal danger? And why did you return alone?"
Keslan did not answer the emperor's question, but instead looked at Lin Yi and said, "It's really not very good. Jiang Yu's husband? I think you don't need to go to sea again."
He said sarcastically, "You originally had a chance to see her one last time, but unfortunately you chose to return to the palace to report back, sending a few worthless guards to rescue her. What's the use of rushing off now?"
Turner looked at the veins that had suddenly become prominent on Lin Yi's forehead and couldn't help but smile bitterly to himself. His cousin was as sharp-tongued as ever.
Just a second before Lin Yi could erupt, he stepped forward and introduced, "This is Keslan, the leader of the Owls, and a former member of the Yulia family."

"If that's the case," Lin Yi tightened his grip on the sword at his waist, suppressing his temper as he asked, "Weren't you supposed to be protecting my wife? Where is she now?"
“It’s not exactly accompanying her, it’s more like close protection.” Keslan saw Lin Yi’s imminent outburst and his eyes flashed with a mischievous and malicious smile. “After all, her husbands were useless. If it weren’t for me, those pirates would have done much more than just touch her face.”
It's true that Keslan looks down on Lin Yi. When the sea monster kidnapped Jiang Yu right in front of him, he transferred some of his anger and helplessness onto Lin Yi.
"What did you say?!" Lin Yi was furious. Hearing that Jiang Yu had been harassed by these damned pirates, his reason was almost completely burned away at that moment.
