Otherworldly Companions: Every Handsome Man is Extraordinary

Chapter 242 Not in the Wine

Chapter 242 Not in the Wine

"Are you crazy?!" Keslan stormed in, furious. What the hell was that Turner up to?

“My dear cousin, who upset you? Why are you so agitated?” Turner Yuria was sitting at his desk writing a letter, completely unaffected by Keslan, and didn’t even look up.

"You're trying to curry favor with Jiang Yu? The Emperor has taken a liking to Jiang Yu for you?" Keslan's face darkened. If he really wasn't calm, he would have ridden Arthur and swaggered into the palace through the main gate.

“Jiang Yu is a piece of fat meat. We can’t just watch her fall into the hands of other empires’ royal families. You’re useless, and she doesn’t even look at you, so His Majesty has set his sights on me.” Turner chuckled. “What’s going on? How come my invincible cousin was defeated when he met Lord Jiang Yu?”

"Stop talking nonsense. She might not like me, but does she think she'd like you?" Keslan's face darkened, and he turned to walk out. "Let me go see what's wrong with that old man. He's barely alive, how can he still have time to play matchmaker?"

"Heh, believe it or not, if he were strong and healthy, he'd want to marry Jiang Yu himself." Turner added fuel to the fire.

“Kill him,” Keslan said in a harsh tone.

"Alright, cousin, you know none of this matters. I'll be an adult in two years, and His Majesty doesn't have many years left to live. Promise me you won't cause him any trouble." Turner put down his quill and carefully folded the letter, placing it in the envelope.

“If I don’t cause him trouble, will he not cause me trouble?” Keslan said sarcastically. “Turner, our emperor has never intended to let me go, you must know that.”

“You have the owl, he can’t do anything to you.” Turner raised his hand: “Now, cousin, don’t be angry, sit down and calm down.”

Keslan sat down, his clear yellow eyes locking onto Turner like a hawk's: "Don't you have even the slightest interest in Jiang Yu?"

“How could that be?” Turner leaned back in his chair frankly. “Lord Jiang Yu is so outstanding and so handsome, how could I not be tempted? Even you are smitten, aren’t you?”

"You!" Keslan was furious. What was going on?

"Alright, alright, don't forget I'm the next emperor. I have no right to think about love." Turner shrugged. "But you, cousin, it seems you'll have to go through some trouble to win the heart of your beauty."

"There are only two spots left next to Lord Jiang Yu, so you'd better hurry."

“I can’t force her to fall in love with me. That woman has really strange taste; she only falls for weird men,” Keslan said speechlessly.

Turner was even more speechless. You're the weirder one, aren't you?

"Anyway, she's going to participate in the partner selection conference next year, for that Mr. Moa. You need to think this through. There's still a year left. Even if it's not you, there's no guarantee that someone else won't come along." Turner looked at Keslan, a dark glint in his eyes.

Keslan really loves Jiang Yu, and he's so ruthless that he'd never use any of his methods on her.

The Yuria family has never produced a Casanova, so it's no wonder he was expelled.

Turner slowly picked up his cup, took a sip of tea, and turned to bring up another matter: "Didn't you say you were going to help me investigate the secrets of the Aurora Empire's sacred mountain?"

Keslan felt a chill run down his spine. He had clearly said last time that it wasn't necessary, but now it was being brought up again. Luckily, he had been careful and sent someone to investigate thoroughly. This time, he could say something that was half true and half false.

"The Aurora Empire worships the divine light in the sacred mountain, so their priestly families are unparalleled. I suspect that their relationship with the divine light is not one of worship, but rather a transaction."

“Since they can trade, we can too.” Keslan, dressed entirely in black, sat under the bright lights, his striking features casting dark shadows, and he gave a seductive smile.

“My dear brother, you are destined to be a wise and benevolent ruler for all time. Perhaps this is your chance to unify the world and unite the three great empires into one. The legendary King Triton from a thousand years ago failed to do so. Don’t you want to give it a try?”

Turner sat there quietly with his eyes lowered, remaining silent for a long time.

"We both know that the calamity that occurred in the Aurora Empire a hundred years ago differed from the rumors. Their royal family has been weakened to this day, and Divine Light has no reason to sit idly by, unless they offended Divine Light first."

“If Divine Light doesn’t interfere, it would be a piece of cake for the Ocean Empire to swallow the Aurora Empire.” Keslan crossed his legs, carefully studying the expression on Turner’s face, but the latter remained seated calmly and did not express his opinion.

"So, do you want me to go and explore the sacred mountain for you?"

Turner lifted his eyelids. Despite being a teenager who was not yet an adult, he sat there with a calm and composed demeanor, revealing not a single extra bit of his attitude.

"That's forbidden territory. Trying to go in and gather information will cost you countless brothers. Instead of focusing on the divine light in the Holy Mountain, you should think more about Moya, who's by Lord Jiang Yu's side."

Keslan remained silent, a smile still on his face, but his heart suddenly darkened.

After all this back and forth, it's still the same old story. The Yulia family is determined to get Jiang Yu, or rather, they're determined to get Moya. They're just testing him now. If he can't get Jiang Yu, the Yulia family will take other measures.

“Of course I have no interest in Lord Jiang Yu. Someone like Lord Jiang Yu shouldn’t be confined to the boring royal court.” Turner clasped his hands together, as if exchanging thoughts with Keslan.

“She has so many ideas. She’s only just returned to her territory and she’s already planning a trade fair and something. It seems she even wants to select bodyguards.” This was a warning. He looked directly into Keslan’s eyes.

Seeing the sudden fierceness and warning in the other person's eyes, Turner's smile became even gentler and more peaceful. "Oh, I'm not going to do anything, dear cousin, don't be so nervous."

"Besides, with the strength of Lord Jiang Yu's companions, they are not people I can touch. I'm just worried for you. You need to improve your competitiveness, cousin."

“Don’t worry about me,” Keslan said in a low voice. “She’s no threat to you. Don’t try to frame her with political conspiracy theories.”

“Only when they become family can you truly put your mind at ease, right?” Turner’s eyes flickered. “What do you think of Lord Jiangyu’s friend from the Forest Empire?”
