Chapter 187 Kitten
Chapter 187 Kitten
He Qiaoyun put down the fork she had just picked up and replied, "No, I'm just exhausted from working all day. I'll be fine after a nap."
Feng Jiashu: [That's good.]
He Qiaoyun put down her phone, shook her head, and tried to clear her mind of those thoughts.
"Let things take their natural course," she thought to herself.
My stomach was full, and my mood improved. I turned around, went back to my room, opened my suitcase, and found a change of clothes.
After washing up, I noticed my phone was beeping.
I picked up my phone and saw that my daughter had posted pictures in the group chat; the night view was beautiful too.
She glanced at the time; it was almost midnight. She sent her daughter a message: "Are you on your way back?"
She sent the message but received no reply, so she ignored it, left the living room light on, and went back to her room.
Freed from the constraints of marriage, Xu Hemei was truly free to do as she pleased. After shopping, she dragged Chen Jingzhou into a bar.
The two well-behaved children, whom their elders called "other people's children" and whom their neighbors described as "someone else's kids," went against the grain tonight, partying at a bar until 1:30 a.m.
Chen Jingzhou has a decent alcohol tolerance and is quite restrained; he's just drinking for fun.
Xu Hemei had a low alcohol tolerance and poor manners when drunk. After leaving the bar, she hugged a stray kitten that had come out to forage for food and cried her eyes out, "Little kitten, little kitten, you're so pitiful, just like me, abandoned..."
The kitten was held so tightly by her that it dared not move, its eyes wide open like saucers, too scared and cowardly to move.
Chen Jingzhou found it somewhat amusing and took out his phone to record a video of her.
A short while later, the car arrived, and he put away his phone, tugging at Xu Hemei, "Hey, let's go back."
Xu Hemei glanced back at him, then picked up the kitten and got into the car.
Chen Jingzhou sighed, "Put the cat down."
Xu Hemei wouldn't listen to any of the advice. She got into the car with the cat in her arms, and the driver laughed, "Girl, you should put the cat back."
"It said it wanted to come home with me."
Chen Jingzhou stood outside the door, one hand resting on the edge of the car door, and asked, "So you're going to keep it?"
Xu Hemei cried and said, "Yes, I'll keep it. The kitten is too pitiful..."
Chen Jingzhou asked again, "Are you sure?"
Xu Hemei nodded, "I'm sure..."
Chen Jingzhou got into the car and said to the driver, "Driver, let's go."
The driver gave a heads-up, "If the cat poops in the car, it'll cost two hundred."
Chen Jingzhou reached out and patted the kitten's head, saying, "Don't worry, it won't."
The driver didn't say anything more, after all, they were going to a five-star hotel, so they shouldn't be short of money.

At two o'clock in the morning, He Qiaoyun heard rustling sounds outside the door while she was sleeping. She pushed her heavy head and got up.
As she opened the door, she saw her daughter holding a pitifully thin tabby cat, greeting her, "Mom, this is the grandson I brought back for you..."
She put the kitten on the ground, parted its legs, confirmed its gender, and said, "Grandson."
He Qiaoyun smelled the alcohol on her, closed her eyes speechlessly, and looked up to see Chen Jingzhou standing behind her.
Chen Jingzhou forced a smile. "I've dropped them off, so I'll head back now. Goodnight."
After saying that, he didn't linger any longer, quietly leaving and closing the door behind him.
Xu Hemei picked up the kitten and said in a high-pitched voice, "Little kitten, this is Grandma, call her Grandma."
The kitten obediently meowed.
He Qiaoyun couldn't bear to look, so she decided not to watch and just pretend it was a nightmare. She slapped her forehead, turned around and went back to her room, closed the door, and continued to sleep.
Xu Hemei, standing outside the door, chuckled awkwardly, "Grandma has a bad temper, but it's okay, you have a mother now."
After saying that, she hugged the kitten, lay down on the sofa, and fell asleep.
The next morning.
He Qiaoyun woke up to the hotel's wake-up service, opened the door, and was startled by the kitten crouching at the door.
The kitten seemed to be frightened as well, and it ran away in a flash.
He Qiaoyun glanced at her daughter, who had been sleeping on the living room sofa all night, and sighed helplessly, thinking how troublesome she was.
She sat down and patted her, "Hey, get up."
Xu Hemei suddenly woke up, staring blankly at her. "What's wrong? Time to go to work?"
He Qiaoyun laughed in exasperation, "So you're really going to sleep on the sofa anyway?"
Xu Hemei gradually regained consciousness, let out a long yawn, and got up. "I'm confused. I'm going back to sleep now."
He Qiaoyun stopped her, "Wait a minute, don't go to sleep yet."
Xu Hemei asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
He Qiaoyun pointed to the stray cat sitting obediently on the ground, "Now that you're sober, let's figure out what to do."
Xu Hemei stared at the kitten, stunned. "Where did this come from?"
He Qiaoyun raised an eyebrow. "Looks like you're still asleep. Well then, let me tell you, this is the grandson you brought back to me last night when you were drunk."
Xu Hemei's memories flooded her mind. She thought about her drunken outburst last night and was so ashamed she wanted to disappear into the ground. "Ahhhhhh—"
Seeing her reaction, He Qiaoyun knew that she had remembered, so she stood up and said, "You should have a proper conversation with my grandson. I'm going to wash up now."
As she spoke, she walked into the bathroom and smelled a foul odor. Upon closer inspection, she saw a pile of feces in the toilet.
It looks like cat poop.
She covered her nose, flushed the cat poop, and didn't want to curse at all. Instead, she praised the cat in her heart for being so clever as to know how to use a human toilet.
It's much better to poop in the toilet than on the carpet or sofa; the toilet water will flush it down right away.
The clever kitten is worthy to be her grandson.
While brushing her teeth, she checked her phone and saw a "Good morning" message from Feng Jiashu. She replied with a "Good morning" and then couldn't help but share with him: "Last night my daughter went out to play, got drunk, and brought me back a grandson."
Feng Jiashu: [What?]
He Qiaoyun was brushing her teeth and didn't have time to reply, so she put down her phone.
After washing up, she went outside and saw her daughter staring at the kitten with a worried expression. "Kitty, what should I do? What should I do... Are you hungry?"
"Meow~"
"Wait a minute, I'll order some cat food for you and have it delivered."
He Qiaoyun took her phone, walked over, snapped a picture of the kitten, and sent it to Feng Jiashu: [Grandson.]
Feng Jiashu: [It was just a kitten. I thought...]
He Qiaoyun: [What a clever kitten! It can even use a human toilet. Amazing!]
Feng Jiashu: [What are your plans for dealing with this kitten?]
He Qiaoyun patted her daughter and asked, "What do you plan to do with this kitten?"
Xu Hemei looked worried. "I don't know either."
He Qiaoyun replied to Feng Jiashu, "[She doesn't know either.]" Then she shook her head helplessly, got up, and went back to her room.
Her phone rang, and when she picked it up, she saw it was a good morning greeting from Liu Biao.
She replied with a "Good morning," and then Liu Biao sent another message: "Did Xiaomei get back to the hotel safely last night?"
He Qiaoyun: [Yeah, he drank too much and even brought me back a grandson.]
The next second, Liu Biao called. She hung up and quickly sent him a picture of a kitten: "[Brought home a kitten.]"
Liu Biao: "Oh dear, you only said half of what you meant, that scared me to death! I thought..."
He Qiaoyun: [Your reaction was too much; the phone call startled me too.]
Liu Biao: "You scared me too, but this cat is really ugly."
He Qiaoyun: "You'd look better if you were a little chubby."
Liu Biao: "Is this about adoption?"
He Qiaoyun: "They're all my grandsons now, what do you think?"
Liu Biao: "You really dared to agree."
He Qiaoyun smiled and didn't reply. As long as she didn't think about the confession scene from last night, she actually liked this way of getting along with Liu Biao.
She hasn't decided how she feels yet. If she does decide and hurts him, they probably won't even be able to be friends anymore.
Just as she was about to change her clothes, Xu Hemei screamed "Ahhhhh!" from outside the door, which startled her so much that she ran out.
