Chapter 133 Stay Away From Her
Chapter 133 Stay Away From Her
I can't gamble with the life of the hospital director.
Hu Mei stepped forward to stop her, "Can she be trusted? People like her are arrogant and look down on people like us. Would she save the director?"
The rescue I just performed left me exhausted, and I didn't have time to go forward and grab Hu Mei.
Song Yafei disregarded her image, kicked off her high heels, knelt down, and began first aid.
Her actions effectively silenced Hu Mei.
Soon, about ten minutes later, the ambulance arrived.
Upon seeing the ambulance, Lin Qiuran had to admit that Song Yafei's judgment was correct.
Someone needs to accompany the ambulance, and I rushed to get in, but Song Yafei stopped me, saying, "Let me go."
I was a little annoyed. "Why are you arguing with me at a time like this?"
Song Yafei explained, "I'll go to the group's hospital to make arrangements. You and the others can arrange numbers for the children first, and then we can come over together."
I'm very worried.
At this point, the doctor accompanying the ambulance urged, "Who's actually in the ambulance?"
“Me!” Song Yafei answered loudly, shaking off my hand. “Don’t waste any more time, I’ll go so we can make arrangements.”
After she finished speaking, she got into the ambulance, and the door closed in front of me.
This time, Lin Qiuran acted out of character and stepped forward to grab me, saying, "God, I think her plan is right, after all, those people will definitely listen to her."
Lin Qiuran knew how much I cared about the dean, and she comforted me.
Hu Mei came over and patted me on the back. "Don't worry, Director Mama will be fine."
These words of comfort could not soothe my worries.
I composed myself and instructed Lin Qiuran and Hu Mei, "Let's settle the children first before going to the hospital."
We then split up, and after settling the children in, we soon drove together to the hospital owned by the group.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the hospital director's mother had already been taken into the operating room, while Song Yafei waited outside the operating room.
As we approached, I asked her breathlessly, "How is the headmistress?"
"Don't worry, I let He Yang in. He'll tell us the result when he comes out."
Perhaps the journey had exhausted me, and now that I suddenly relaxed, I felt powerless, and my body collapsed uncontrollably.
Song Yafei pulled me back in time and leaned closer, saying, "You have to trust He Yang's medical skills; everything will be alright."
We don't know how long we waited outside the operating room. Song Yafei helped me into a chair and sat next to me.
After what seemed like an eternity, He Yang finally emerged from the operating room.
The operating room door opened, and we all rushed in.
He Yang took off his mask, his expression calm, though he looked tired.
"It's nothing serious. It's just that a previously hidden tumor was triggered by the medication and grew too fast, pressing on a nerve. After the tumor was removed, we still need to observe it more closely."
It remains to be seen what will happen next, but at least for now, the hospital director has weathered the crisis.
I was still frantically searching for a voice, so Hu Mei asked He Yang, "When will the dean be able to come out?"
"He'll be out soon, but he'll be sent to the ICU tonight. Once his condition stabilizes, he'll be transferred to a regular ward. Only one person can stay with him in the ICU tonight. The rest of you can go home and get some rest. Come back tomorrow to take over."
After giving a few instructions, He Yang returned to the operating room.
Everyone's anxiety finally subsided.
Song Yafei had called Assistant Luo over at some point, and she brought us some water and food.
By then I had calmed down a bit and urged Lin Qiuran to go back.
Lin Qiuran knew about my illness, but he was worried and didn't want to say it outright.
"It's okay, Xiaoqian's parents are at home, it's fine if she doesn't go back for one night."
But I refused to listen to him, saying, "Go back now."
Seeing that I insisted, Lin Qiuran didn't know what to say and could only give me some instructions.
"You go back too. I'll bring you to see the dean again tomorrow."
I originally planned to stay by myself, but Hu Mei seemed to realize that I wasn't doing well, so she agreed.
"Yes, you go back too. I'll keep an eye on things tonight."
While we were arguing, Assistant Luo brought over a middle-aged woman who looked honest and unassuming.
She was wearing a clean white suit and looked quite like a nurse at first glance.
Assistant Luo brought the person to me, "This is the professional caregiver that General Manager Song asked me to find."
I didn't expect Song Yafei to have thought of this and made arrangements in advance.
She seems... to have really changed.
Perhaps because of my health, Lin Qiuran, unusually, did not contradict Song Yafei this time and accepted Song Yafei's kindness.
"Look how thoughtful our CEO Song is. He's already found the right people. Let's all go back and get some rest. Everyone's had a long day."
"Maybe the dean will be better by tomorrow morning."
He remained as optimistic as ever.
Hu Mei didn't say anything about this arrangement.
Soon after, the hospital director's mother came out of the operating room and was taken to the ICU.
We watched through the glass for a while, and then left one by one.
I stayed behind. Song Yafei, who had originally left, for some reason turned back and stayed by my side.
After a while, she finally came over and pulled me away, saying, "Let's go, I'll accompany you to see the director again tomorrow."
At that moment, I was still not completely at ease and did not notice that Song Yafei was holding my hand. I let her make arrangements, followed her into the car, and then she took me home.
The next morning, I received a call from Song Yafei while I was in Lin Qiuran's car.
"Have you already left?"
"Ah."
"Okay, I'll wait for you at the hospital."
She hung up the phone after saying that.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Lin Qiuran dropped me off at the main entrance because of parking issues. I went upstairs first, and while passing through the stairwell, I heard a commotion.
It was a voice I was familiar with.
Hu Mei accused Song Yafei.
"Are you trying to curry favor with Zhang Tian by taking advantage of the dean's illness? Do you want to get back together with him?"
Song Yafei retorted bluntly, "What's it to you? I've warned you before, you should stay out of our marital business."
Hu Mei was displeased with her words and snorted coldly.
"Husband and wife? Even I, who just returned from abroad, have heard about your scandal of dating male celebrities. What do you take Zhang Tian for?"
"All those things you've done to Zhang Tian over the years, all that harm you've caused, do you think you can make up for it with this little favor? That's just wishful thinking!"
Hu Mei's words reminded me of what Lin Qiuran had said in the car earlier.
"My God, Song Yafei's actions this time are truly remarkable."
I absentmindedly hummed in agreement.
“But,” Lin Qiuran suddenly changed the subject, reminding me.
“You can’t change your mind over such a small thing. Think about what she’s done before. What does this little thing matter?”
It seems like everyone around me is advising me to stay away from Song Yafei.
