Chapter 472: The Calamity
Chapter 472: The Calamity
Li Jingyang didn't say anything, but instead hugged the person even tighter in his arms.
"I had a nightmare."
"No matter what dream you have, you shouldn't torture yourself like this. You promised me you would get some rest, but I still did it."
As Lin Rusi spoke, she was about to get up and go out to find the imperial physician.
But before she could take a single step, her arm was once again grasped by that cool, large hand.
"I don't want to see anyone else."
"Then what are we going to do about your injury? Are we just going to let your flesh necrotize and leave you looking so grotesque, scaring my son and me?"
Li Jingyang paused for a moment, then raised his hand and pointed to the medicine bottle on the table.
Lin Rusi immediately understood what she meant, but she didn't go over directly. Instead, she first used scissors to completely untie the gauze from the wound.
A gruesome wound came into view, and she felt the pain acutely, her face contorting in pain.
"You..."
"Madam, it hurts so much! If you don't apply the medicine soon, it will fester."
"If it were really that easy to break, you would be gone by now."
Although Lin Rusi said that, she still got up and took a handkerchief to wipe away the bloodstains on the skin.
After confirming that there was no bleeding, he carefully sprinkled the powder onto the wound.
"Thank you for your hard work, Madam."
"If you knew what hardship was, you wouldn't have to switch to doing those dangerous things."
Lin Rusi patted the newly applied gauze, then carefully moved onto the bed and wrapped her arms around the person.
Smelling the familiar scent, Li Jingyang closed his eyes and left a kiss on her forehead.
"What did you do to get yourself injured like this?"
"It was just a momentary lapse in attention; it will never happen again."
They get even angrier when people don't answer their questions directly.
But in her current position, Lin Rusi couldn't make any more movements; she could only grab the long hair that had just fallen into her palm.
The pain shooting up to the top of his head made Li Jingyang let out another soft cry.
"Did I use too much force? Don't you know how to use your strength in a natural way?"
“You must bear all of Madam’s punishment. Am I right, Sisi?”
The voice calling Lin Rusi's name was extremely hoarse and low, causing her to shake her head repeatedly, trying to break free from the other person's control.
But Li Jingyang simply put his head on her shoulder, and the movement stopped there.
"I'm sorry, I will definitely tell you later."
"That's for the best."
Lin Rusi's small hand kept stroking Li Jingyang's hair, finally relaxing his tense nerves, and he fell asleep with his eyelids drooping.
The next day.
Sensing that the person next to her was slightly warmer, she immediately opened her eyes and looked at Li Jingyang, who was still fast asleep.
"Jingyang? How are you feeling?"
Why can't I wake him up all of a sudden?
Lin Rusi quickly walked out of ignorance, intending to find the imperial physician to examine her, when she met two pairs of eyes.
"Greetings, Empress Dowager. May I ask what brings you here so early in the morning?"
"With your rosy complexion, do you really not know that the Crown Prince is injured?"
Feeling bewildered by what she was being said, Lin Rusi could only wipe her cheek with her hand, then remembering that she had just woken up, she withdrew her hand.
But before she could explain, the person on the other end spoke first.
"I'm afraid you're the one who caused him to get hurt!"
"Your Majesty's words are a bit excessive. Jingyang is my husband. Why would I want to harm him?"
Unexpectedly, the Empress Dowager let out another cold snort, and then walked straight forward, attempting to push Lin Rusi away.
But as soon as she reached out her hand, the other person suddenly stepped back, dodging the hand.
"You need evidence to teach or preach. Isn't it going too far to say that Jingyang was injured because of me without any proof?"
"Excessive? If it weren't for your insistence on leaving the palace, with so many people the Crown Prince would protect, how could you possibly get injured?"
This is all thanks to what you've done.
If it weren't for these two people in front of them, they wouldn't have moved out of the East Palace so easily.
But Lin Rusi couldn't bring herself to say it, so she could only find another way to send the two away first.
"In that case, Your Majesty, I will definitely increase the number of people following the Crown Prince from now on, and ensure that no one can get close to him easily."
"That's all?"
What else do you want?
Lin Rusi's gaze suddenly fell on Zhuang Lijuan, and a smile appeared on her lips.
"I understand. I'll also remind you that no one else should approach me without permission, to eliminate any possibility of being threatened."
"What? I can't even get close? You've really gone too far!"
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Zhuang Lijuan reaching out to pull the Empress Dowager back. She then looked further into the distance and saw that the imperial physician had already poked his head out after hearing the noise.
However, with the Empress Dowager blocking the way, no one dared to step forward to check Li Jingyang's injuries.
Lin Rusi realized this and wanted the Empress Dowager to make way for her.
Before she could even utter a sound, she heard a strange remark.
"You are the reincarnation of a jinx. Many things have happened since you came to my royal family, and now you have even harmed the crown prince."
"What right do you have to stay here? If I were you, I'm afraid I would have left on my own initiative."
what?
Lin Rusi was still in shock, not quite realizing that she was the so-called jinx, and stared blankly at the Empress Dowager.
Both of them were dissatisfied with this reaction. Zhuang Lijuan even reached out triumphantly to push the person aside and go in to check on the Crown Prince's condition.
But just as her hand was about to touch Lin Rusi's clothes, the door in front of her was opened.
The next instant, Lin Rusi was pulled into it by a pair of large hands.
"Why would I not know that Sisi is a jinx? I'm afraid the Empress Dowager heard some nonsense from somewhere."
"If I find out that it was that big mouth who was spouting nonsense, I will make sure his entire family is executed."
With just those two sentences, the aggressive Empress Dowager fell silent.
But she was, after all, Li Jingyang's grandmother, and she couldn't possibly be allowed to be suppressed like this. She looked up and met his dark eyes.
"Is it really just a rumor? Then why have I heard so many palace maids complaining?"
"It seems that those servants are jealous of their master and are talking nonsense. When we get back, I will deal with them without the Crown Prince having to lift a finger."
Li Jingyang remained silent, instead looking down at Lin Rusi with his eyes lowered, as if someone had just injured her.
The Empress Dowager knew that if things weren't made clear now, the Zhuang family would be in trouble later, so she could only force a smile at Lin Rusi.
"You seemed about to leave just now, why don't you let me speak with the Crown Prince for a bit?"
Should we leave an injured person to them?
Lin Rusi, recalling the Empress Dowager's aggressive demeanor just now, naturally refused to agree and even waved to the imperial physician who had arrived not far away.
"I was just going to find the imperial physician, and now that I'm here, I don't need to leave again."
"I see."
The Empress Dowager wanted to send Lin Rusi away so she could say a few more words for Zhuang Lijuan, but before she could speak, Lin Rusi interrupted her.
