Chapter 21 I Don't Want to Work Overtime!!
As dusk approached, a black Porsche drove smoothly along the road.
Bai Yexiu, who had come to hitch a ride, was so comfortable he was almost asleep. Sure enough, Vodka's driving skills were excellent—fast and steady.
Gin, in the passenger seat, did not relax. He stared at the rearview mirror, a dangerous glint in his eyes.
"Someone's following us." Gin said this expressionlessly, seemingly unfazed, while his other hand had already reached into the pocket where his gun was kept.
Upon hearing this, Vodka expertly floored the accelerator, attempting to create distance. Gin and his crew had encountered being followed countless times, and Vodka had gradually become adept at shaking off his pursuers.
Bai Yexiu, who had just woken up from his comfortable state, watched helplessly as Vodka stepped on the gas and ran a red light.
"Hey, Vodka, why did you run a red light? You have to obey traffic rules, you know? Look at the last time we got pulled over by the police..."
Before Bai Yexiu could finish speaking, Gin gave him a sharp look, and Bai Yexiu immediately shut his mouth.
"You still dare to mention it?" Vodka couldn't help but retort, only to receive a murderous glare from Gin in return.
Vodka continued driving hesitantly, not daring to look at Gin at all. While it was said that Byakuya was responsible that time, Vodka also bore some responsibility—he was far too sensitive to the words "someone is following him."
On that occasion abroad, Gin was on business somewhere, and Vodka drove Byakuya to pick him up. Byakuya glanced at the car behind him in the rearview mirror and muttered unintentionally, "Is someone following us?"
Upon hearing those four words, Vodka suddenly floored the gas pedal and sped past the truck...
As a result, Gin's car was almost impounded... and the hood was even scratched.
However, it turned out that this time the tracking was genuine. The white sedan behind Gin followed them all the way. Gin gave a wicked smile and told Vodka to drive the car onto the winding mountain road.
Bai Yexiu understood Gin's methods. Gin wanted to lure the car to a secluded place and then take it all down at once.
Throughout history, no one who has followed Gin's car has ever had a good ending.
However, Bai Yexiu was also slightly annoyed. He wanted to hitch a ride with Gin to a ramen shop because he had received a voucher for that ramen shop that morning, which allowed him to sample the shop's signature ramen for free.
Bai Yexiu was immediately tempted! After completing the mission, he asked Gin to drive him to that ramen shop. The coupon was valid until 7 PM tonight, and they had almost arrived at the shop just moments ago.
He looked at the coupon in his hand, silently feeling a pang of regret. He glanced out the window again, realizing he was getting further and further away from the shop, and the surrounding scenery was becoming increasingly desolate…
Why should I work overtime with you guys?
Bai Yexiu glanced displeasedly at the car following them in the rearview mirror, then closed his eyes.
Let Gin and his team do what they want. I'm not getting involved, and I'm not working overtime.
As it got darker, the vodka-fueled car sped up, suddenly braking and then slamming on the gas, shaking Bai Yeshu, who was resting with his eyes closed.
Bai Yexiu glanced through the car window and discovered that the car that had been following them was no longer just following; it was now racing them.
Vodka, not to be outdone, was speeding along. Meanwhile, Bai Yexiu temporarily abandoned his plan to close his eyes and rest amidst the bumpy ride.
The main problem is that there's no way to close your eyes and relax in this setting!
Vodka seemed to be used to racing, looking relaxed, while the white sedan racing them was at a disadvantage, being thoroughly outmatched by Vodka's driving skills.
It seems that street racing is a common occurrence.
Bai Yexiu thought that if he joined their group, he probably wouldn't be able to get a good night's sleep in the car.
Finally, Vodka stepped on the gas, made a turn and braked, and blocked the white sedan.
"Get to work, Cointreau." Gin opened the car door first and got out, followed by Vodka.
Since Bai Yexiu wasn't disguising himself today, he habitually put on a black mask and a black baseball cap.
Four men stepped out of the white sedan: one in a suit, and the other three who looked like thugs. At that moment, Bai Yexiu, fully equipped, opened the car door without hesitation.
But deep down, Bai Yexiu was 100% unwilling—I don't want to work overtime!!!
He preferred to sleep in the car.
Bai Yexiu accepted his fate, pulled out a gun from his pocket, and prepared to face the gunfight that might follow.
But upon closer inspection, Bai Yexiu realized that someone across from him looked very familiar—wasn't that Hechuan Pingdai? The one he had exploited by taking three checks.
Meanwhile, Gin and Vodka, without saying a word, pulled out their guns and started fighting.
The other side didn't seem to have time to react either. After one of the thugs was shot twice, the others finally drew their guns.
Bai Yexiu fired several shots, knocking their pistols away before they could react. Gin and Vodka then fired directly at their faces, and within moments, all four men were killed by bullets.
Seeing the four corpses on the ground and the wrecked white car, Gin and Vodka immediately started carrying the bodies and threw them off the mountain road.
This is a winding mountain road, with a rushing river right below the road railing—perfect for destroying evidence.
Bai Yexiu did not participate in moving the corpse. For him, why not take it easy when he could?
It's a bit of a shame that Hechuan Heitai died; otherwise, he could have taken advantage of him a few more times.
He wondered if that gang would send other people to buy information from him again. If so, well... Bai Yexiu leisurely got into the car, completely ignoring the look in Vodka's eyes.
Vodka had just finished moving two corpses when he saw Bai Yexiu get into the car without doing any work. He felt secretly annoyed, but didn't say anything.
Never mind, anyway, my brother will punish him if necessary.
Vodka consoled himself with this thought, and then helped Gin dispose of the body.
After the two men finished moving the body, they opened the car door and found Bai Yexiu sleeping inside. They were already used to it; Jun Du's habit of sleeping was incurable, but sleeping during a mission…
Brother! Punish him now! Punish him now!
Vodka gloated, thinking that Cointreau was finally going to get scolded, and then he secretly glanced expectantly at Gin.
Gin sat down in the car expressionlessly: "Fine, sleep if you want."
Gin visibly gave up the struggle.
Jundu loves to sleep, sometimes even while doing missions, and even the boss can't stop him...
"What's this?" Gin noticed a red object sticking out from under the seat. After picking it up, he realized it was a ramen shop coupon, valid until 7 PM tonight.
Gin glanced at his watch—it's already this late, he probably can't make it...
Since he can't go, Jundu can legitimately work overtime with him. It's a good time to train this kid so he won't always fall asleep while doing missions.
Bai Yexiu was completely unaware of Gin's scheming plans and was sleeping peacefully.
"Get up, time to work."
Upon hearing Gin's words, which sounded like a devil's whisper, Bai Yexiu snapped awake and said resentfully, "Gin-chan, I've already done enough for this month's sales targets."
“It has nothing to do with that. Just do as I say.” Gin gestured for Vodka to start the car.
That means working overtime.
Bai Yexiu glared at Gin, the guy who was best at threatening others to work overtime.
He was incredibly unwilling right now. He had already missed out on that free bowl of ramen, and now he had missed out on his vacation this month...
