Chapter 150: What a Journey
Chapter 150: What a Journey
The same day, Timothy was in his personal office where he stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows that had a view of the BGC Skyline. The view was mesmerizing, and motivating at the same time. His net worth was over a hundred billion dollars now and there’s a potential of it hitting trillion dollars. And with that, he might have to build another skyscraper like this in other cities of the Philippines or in another country.
Now, this got him thinking. He is a multi-billionaire yet he wasn’t like those people lavishly spending their money on material things like sports cars, yachts, going to Bora Bora, or any similar places. Maybe because his mind was wired to invest the money on a business instead.
Though doing business his whole life would be boring and could get regretful if he were to not spend quality time with himself or his family, or start a romantic relationship with someone special.
And by someone special, the first person that came to mind was Hana. Well, granted she is very beautiful, smart, efficient, and damn good at her job. But still, there are times that the lines between employer and employee are starting to get thicker.
He knew if he were to not make a move soon, his chances of being with Hana would be near zero.
And while gazing at the window, there was a knock on the door. And the intercom sounded.
"Mr. Guerrero."
It was Hana’s voice. She continued. "Your mother and little sister wish to see you."
Timothy turned and walked to his desk and pressed a button.
"Send them in."
"Yes, sir."
The intercom clicked off.
Timothy straightened his sleeve cuffs, adjusted his posture, and walked toward the door. Moments later, it opened. And there, Evelyn and Angela stepped in.
"Ma!" Timothy walked across the office and hugged his mother.
"Son...I’m so proud of you," she said warmly, hugging him back.
He looked down at Angela, who was already growing and is now thirteen years old.
"Angela...you are still wearing your uniform huh? Off to school?"
"Yes brother...but before I go to school, I want to take a selfie first with you. I want to share it with my classmates!"
"No problem," Timothy chuckled and flickered his gaze to Hana. He signaled her to give them a moment alone since his mother and little sister won’t be staying long here anyways and was just dropping by.
Hana understood his facial expression and simply excused herself by closing the door behind her as she left.
"I still can’t believe...you own this building Tim..." Evelyn said in awe.
"It’s a much needed upgrade from our previous office. We can’t just rent an office forever when we are building an empire here," Timothy explained.
"Brother selfie please!"
Timothy smiled and crouched slightly so he was level with Angela’s camera.
She held her phone up with both hands, grinning ear to ear.
"Okay, brother! Smile!"
Timothy didn’t really smile often, not the kind that showed teeth, but he softened his expression enough for the photo.
A bright click.
Then another.
And another.
"Angela," Timothy said, mildly amused, "your school might start without you at this point."
"No! Just one more! Please?" she insisted, already switching to portrait mode. "I want to show everyone how tall this office is. Kuya, stand here—yes, there! Okay, one... two... three!"
She leaned against him, flashing a peace sign while Timothy simply stood still, hands in his pockets.
Click.
Angela checked the result and squealed. "This is perfect! They are going to freak out!"oday.
