Chapter 209 You can't take this from me.
When Li Qingyou woke up again, she found herself lying in Gu Heng's arms, and she instantly felt embarrassed and shy.
She struggled to get up and tried to jump off the sofa, but her movements were clumsy because she was still weak.
Seeing this, Gu Heng quickly reached out to support her and asked with concern:
"You're awake? How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"
After regaining her balance, Li Qingyou lowered her head somewhat shyly and answered softly:
"I...I'm fine now, thank you."
Seeing her shy expression, Gu Heng couldn't help but feel a ripple in his heart.
He gently patted her shoulder, comforting her:
"You're welcome. I'm glad you're alright. Please have a seat and I'll get you a glass of water."
As he spoke, Gu Heng turned and walked to the water dispenser, pouring Li Qingyou a glass of warm water.
When he returned, he found that Li Qingyou had already sat back on the sofa and was tidying up her clothes.
Gu Heng handed her the water glass and sat down next to her. He looked at Li Qingyou and found that her complexion had returned to normal, which eased his worries a little.
"Qingyou, are you overworked? Or are you unwell, which is why you suddenly fainted?"
Gu Heng asked tentatively.
Li Qingyou nodded and admitted:
"Work is alright. I work at a flower shop during the day. The boss is very nice and never makes me do heavy work. I work part-time at a bar at night for only three hours, so it's not too tiring. However, I have a heart condition and can't get too excited or nervous."
Gu Heng looked at her intently and slowly said:
I saw your post on WeChat Moments. How is your illness now?
Li Qingyou was slightly taken aback, and answered with some surprise:
"Ah, I remember rarely mentioning my illness on WeChat Moments. Oh, right, I did post one, but that was three years ago. You...you saw my WeChat Moments post from three years ago?"
A hint of embarrassment flashed across Gu Heng's face when she asked him that. He scratched his head and said in a low voice:
"I had nothing to do this morning, so I just looked through it."
Seeing his somewhat embarrassed expression, Li Qingyou quickly smiled and replied:
"Thank you for your concern. My condition is relatively stable now. As long as I avoid overexertion and emotional fluctuations, there shouldn't be any major problems."
Hearing her say that, Gu Heng felt a slight sense of relief, but he didn't want her to dwell on the topic any longer. So he quickly changed the subject:
"Oh, by the way, are you hungry? Let me take you to eat."
Li Qingyou nodded, the two exchanged a smile, and then walked towards the office door.
"You didn't go home all afternoon, will your boss give you a hard time?"
Gu Heng asked with concern as he helped Li Qingyou pick up some food.
Just as Li Qingyou was about to answer Gu Heng's question, a chilling aura suddenly rushed towards her. She looked up and saw a tall, handsome man walking towards them.
The man's face was cold and distant. His gaze swept over her and Gu Heng, making her shiver involuntarily.
Li Qingyou's heart tightened. She lowered her head slightly to avoid his sharp gaze and whispered to Gu Heng:
"No, she's a very nice person and won't make things difficult for me."
Gu Heng noticed Li Qingyou's unusual behavior and turned to look in the direction of her gaze. He saw Huo Muchen walking towards them with steady steps.
He paused for a moment, then asked curiously, "What are you doing here?"
Huo Muchen glanced at Gu Heng, his tone tinged with disdain:
"I'm eating here, what's so strange about that?"
His gaze swept over Li Qingyou again, still cold and indifferent.
Seeing this, Gu Heng quickly stood up, pulled Huo Muchen aside, and whispered:
"You can't take this from me."
His tone carried a hint of nervousness, as if he was worried that Huo Muchen might do something outrageous.
