Chapter 464: South China Sea Fleet Flagship Sea Giant

Chapter 464: South China Sea Fleet Flagship Sea Giant

After completing a comprehensive inspection of the South China Sea Fleet Command, the afternoon sun shone through the clouds onto the sparkling sea. Accompanied by Mountbatten, Su Zhengyang slowly walked towards the port, ready to board the South China Sea Fleet flagship docked on the shore.

Mountbatten, wearing a neat military uniform and looking solemn, led Su Zhengyang through the busy area of the dock to the majestic warship. In front of Su Zhengyang, a towering steel behemoth stood above the sea, its metallic luster gleaming in the sun, contrasting with the blue sky and the blue sea, forming a magnificent picture.

"Your Excellency President, this is the Jiaolong, the flagship of our South China Sea Fleet. It symbolizes the glory and strength of our navy." Mountbatten pointed to the warship in front of him, his voice full of pride.

Su Zhengyang nodded, his eyes wandering over the huge warship, from the towering mast to the wide deck, from the sophisticated radar system to the mighty guns, all of which showed its power and advancement. In fact, the Jiaolong was the Blue Ridge amphibious command ship that he had purchased from the system at a cost of 10 million points, and it had now become a symbol of the South China Sea Fleet.

They boarded the warship and walked into the spacious command room. The layout was reasonable and all kinds of modern command equipment were available. The huge screen displayed various combat information, and the sound and data converged here to form a vivid battlefield picture.

Mountbatten introduced the various functions of the Jiaolong to Su Zhengyang in detail. Whether it was the integrated combat command capability at sea or the integrated command and control facilities for sea, air and land, the Jiaolong demonstrated outstanding performance. Su Zhengyang listened to Mountbatten's introduction and nodded from time to time to express his approval.

The Jiaolong command ship is 194 meters long, 32 meters wide, has a draft of 9 meters, a full load displacement of tons, a speed of 23 knots, a cruising range of nautical miles/16 knots, a cruising time of 800 hours, and a self-sufficiency of 29 days.

8 radars, 70 transmitters, more than 100 receivers and various terminal equipment, 4 MK36 six-tube jamming rocket launchers, as well as SLQ-25 torpedo decoys, SLQ32(V)3 electronic warfare system, naval tactical data system, amphibious command information system, naval intelligence processing system, and various satellite communication equipment.

The ship is equipped with an amphibious formation command room, a landing force command room, a fire support central control center, a tactical aircraft control center, a combat intelligence center, a surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare coordination center, a landing operations room and a joint communications center.

For the "Jiaolong", the first thing worth mentioning is its displacement of nearly 20,000 tons.

The larger displacement allows the Jiaolong to have enough deck area to arrange a large number of large communication antennas, avoiding interference between antennas due to dense configuration;

The larger displacement gives the Jiaolong good seaworthiness, greater endurance and stronger self-sustaining ability. Considering the rapid development of communication and electronic equipment and the continuous improvement of combat command needs, this displacement can also ensure that there is more room for future improvements and modifications.

The deck layout of the Jiaolong is also quite special. The superstructure is concentrated on the middle deck, forming a large bridge with the chimney. The front of the superstructure is a large four-legged mast, and the rear is a cylindrical mast. There is a helicopter landing deck at the tail of the upper deck, which can park a medium-sized helicopter, but there is no hangar. The entire upper deck looks very open and clean.

A prominent feature of the overall layout of the Jiaolong is the careful and detailed consideration of various issues in use. In order to reduce the interference of electromagnetic waves, various mooring devices and supply devices are arranged below the upper deck as much as possible. The upper deck is equipped with satellite communication antennas and long-distance general short-wave antennas. In order to avoid mutual interference during work, the transmitting and receiving antennas are arranged separately. The bow deck is mostly equipped with transmitting antennas, and the stern deck is equipped with receiving antennas;

In order to ensure the commander's need to leave the ship and go ashore during amphibious operations, there are three protrusions under the deck in the middle of the ship, which account for about half of the length of the ship. Three landing crafts for personnel and two landing crafts for vehicles are stored. The ship can also carry 3 landing combat personnel and vehicles.

Considering that the ship carries the fleet headquarters and a large number of senior commanders, in order to maintain a good working and living environment, the ship is equipped with 200 air conditioners and 5 turbine generator sets for air conditioning; in addition, the ship is also equipped with a roll reduction water tank to ensure the stability of the ship in high sea conditions.

As a dedicated fleet command ship, the Jiaolong's excellent performance is outstandingly reflected in its powerful command and control functions.

The Navy Command and Control System (NCCS) consists of the Fleet Command Center (FCC) and the Flagship Command Center (TFCC).

The "fleet command center" is a land-based command post located on the shore, and the "flagship command center" is a maritime command and control ship like the "Jiaolong" located in the combat waters.

In specific combat command, the "Fleet Command Center" located in Beihai Port sends various combat instructions, ocean surveillance intelligence of the combat area, enemy threats and environmental data of the combat area to the "Flagship Command Center", which are then distributed to various command positions and combat units after processing.

At the same time, the "Flagship Command Center" will continue to receive reports from various units on their own conditions, ocean surveillance intelligence in the sea areas of combat operations, and the progress of combat missions. After being summarized and processed, this information will be reported to the "Fleet Command Center."

It can be seen that in the command of maritime operations, the Jiaolong is at the center. It plays an important role in connecting the upper and lower levels. The "flagship command center" on the Jiaolong is a large-scale integrated communication and information processing system. It is connected to more than 70 transmitters and more than 100 receivers, and communicates with three sets of satellite communication devices. It can exchange information with the outside world at a speed of 3000 times per second.

All received codes can be automatically translated, and the translated messages can be sent to the commanders through the ship's automatic device, and the information can be stored in the computer of the integrated intelligence center. The "Jiaolong"'s information receiving and sending processing capabilities are second to none among all amphibious command ships in the world.

There are seven main command areas on the Jiaolong: Command Department - Flagship Command Center, which is the commander's daily work cabin, also called the amphibious landing force command cabin during amphibious operations. Its main function is to command the anti-air, anti-submarine, anti-ship forces in amphibious operations and the landing formation during the voyage. There are 13 TA-980U satellite phone terminals and two 1.1x1.1 meter square tactical display screens in the cabin, which can display the position and activities of the entire fleet at any time.

The landing force command cabin is the command position of the landing force commander, which is equipped with a naval tactical data system terminal, an amphibious support information system terminal and a naval intelligence processing system terminal. The landing force commander uses these facilities to grasp the progress of the landing operation and provide support for the combat operations and logistical support of the vanguard.

The sea combat command center is mainly used to command aircraft carrier formations and other combat formations to carry out sea combat. It is equipped with tactical data system terminals and tactical display screens.

The anti-submarine warfare center and the sea combat command center are located in the same cabin, which is mainly used to command the fleet and submarines to carry out anti-submarine operations and transmit anti-submarine warfare information.

The landing force fire control center is responsible for coordinating the distribution of firepower within the fleet, providing support for amphibious operations, providing aviation firepower and naval artillery firepower support to the landing area in the early stage of the landing operation, suppressing the enemy's beach firepower when the troops are rushing to the beach, and implementing extended firepower support when the landing troops advance in depth.

The combat intelligence center is equipped with 8 display and control consoles consisting of various display screens, mapping boards, communication equipment, and terminals, including an air interception control console, an air superiority and inferiority situation control console, a tactical system display console, a threat assessment control console, and a weapon coordination control console.

The integrated communications center is equipped with more than 200 control consoles, which coordinate and control more than 200 types of transceiver devices to ensure communications between the fleet and the land command and the fleet's subordinate combat units.
